About Us
SENA began from a deeply personal place.
After experiencing and witnessing gender-based violence in India and New York City, one thing became painfully clear: that resources exist. But during moments of fear, uncertainty, or crisis, they are scattered across websites, agencies, hotlines, and systems that are difficult to navigate under stress.
SENA is created to change that. No woman should ever be left behind, feel unsafe, or struggle to find support simply because the system is too fragmented. What began as a thesis project is now growing into a larger mission: to build a trauma-informed, private safety infrastructure that helps people access the right support, at the right moment, with dignity and agency.

I’m a survivor, designer, researcher, and founder based in New York City, and SENA was shaped directly by my lived experiences.
When I was 18 years old in India, I experienced sexual assault. It took me nearly two years to process what had happened and find the right emotional and safety resources. After eventually sharing my story publicly, hundreds of women reached out to me with their own experiences, many for the first time.
That moment made me realize both how isolating and overwhelming it can feel to search for help during moments of fear and confusion, and how powerful women coming together can be.
Years later, while studying at Pratt Institute in New York City, I experienced sexual abuse again, but this time I had immediate access to institutional support and resources. That contrast reinforced something I already knew firsthand: access changes everything.
SENA is my response to that gap, a private safety infrastructure designed to help women navigate support systems with clarity, privacy, and dignity, so no woman has to feel alone while searching for help.
